Chef's Special Cocktail Bar is hiring a cross-trained Server/ Food Runner for a seasonal position . There is potential for this role to become permanent and/or full-time come fall.

You need to have prior restaurant experience, be attentive, thoughtful and fast on your feet. We are a busy American-Chinese restaurant with about 30 seats on the patio and 60 inside. This position is part of a tip pool with all other FOH positions. Our emphasis on teamwork with cross training is a major part of our structure and success.

The Server/ Food Runner position engages with guests directly. These roles requires someone who is charismatic and warm while being able to stay organized under pressure. We require an established base knowledge of food, wine and cocktails, as a foundation to learn about our specific offerings. We are looking for a candidate who knows how to create a memorable experience for our guests through customization and attention to detail. They should have a high standard of hospitality and a personal interest in the world of food and beverage.

Daily Tasks Include:

  • Set up the dining areas for service in a clean and tidy manner
  • Be able to multi-task and remain poised on the floor
  • Be proficient in Toast POS to take and submit orders to the kitchen & bar accurately
  • Become an expert on our menu offerings, food & cocktails specifically
  • Work in a team environment and as a leader within your server/ server assistant team
  • Follow appropriate allergy protocols
  • Keep your work station clean and tables detailed
  • Complete assigned opening and closing duties
  • Perform table side wine-service
  • Run multiple drinks on a tray
  • Serve up to 30 guests at a time, 3 turns a night
  • Help run food to multiple locations in restaurant accurately
  • Give attentive, efficient and friendly service while showcasing your individual personality

Must have:

  • 2+ years of direct service experience
  • Basset and Food Handlers certifications up to date
  • A comprehensive understanding of food & beverage service
  • Experience using a POS terminal (Toast preferred)
  • Weekend (incl Sunday) and Holiday (incl. Christmas) availability, if the position was extend past summer
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($12.00 - $13.00) plus tips

Estimated Weekly Tips: $800
