POSITION PURPOSE:

Delivery all ordered food from the kitchen to the bar or restaurant to the correct tables and place it according to seat numbers. Sets and clears restaurant tables; stocks all service stations and assists food servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Quickly deliver the ordered food as per ticket to the correct table and distribute the food according to seat numbers announcing and describing the dish. Serve bread, butter and condiments according to the dish and outlet as per the Dupont Circle Hotels menu descriptions.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of station for all meal periods with necessary equipment including condiments, silverware, linen, butter, take away containers, etc.
  • Expedite tickets from main kitchen printer and call the orders to the cooks and hang the tickets on the board in order received.
  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.
  • Serve guests beverages, water, bread and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary. Assist server with food and beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Transport all dirty tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Support other functions as requested.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

  • Attend mandatory meetings and training.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Folding napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills, handling special guest requests, greeting and seating guests and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Attend required meetings and follow all standards (including Forbes F&B Standards).

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, Forbes & LQA service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Ability to understand and communicate English to comprehend and respond to basic guest requests. And to read any caution or safety notices.
  • Knowledge of all menus and food items on the menu
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise transport up to 50 pounds through a crowded room.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods (3+ hours) of time.
