GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is located at Camp Guernsey, Department of Public Works. Responsible for grounds maintenance, minor janitorial services, and building upkeep throughout Camp. Works accordingly with WYARNG values, mission, and vision to provide adequate accommodations and training opportunities for visiting units.

- Grounds ; Responsible for maintenance/operation of equipment for mowing manicured/rough terrain grasses, street/sidewalk snow removal/sanding, underground sprinkler installation/repair/startup/layup, landscaping, paddock maintenance, tree planting/trimming, street sign maintenance/installation, chain link fence repair/maintenance, operates mowers, skid steer, tool cat, farm tractors, back hoe, tele handler, UTV with boom sprayer, and assists with summer to winter equipment refit.
- Custodial; Responsible for cleaning/sanitation of two common areas/bathrooms, empty trash, sweep, mop, vacuum rugs, strip/wax floors, wash mirrors/doors/hardware. Corrects minor trades related issues.
- Admin; Receives, executes, and completes work orders. Be familiar with Safety Data Sheets and HAZMAT restrictions. Inputs/completes computer-based work orders.
- Weed/Pest mitigation ; Assist with noxious weed control utilizing sprayers or mechanical means. Pest elimination using traps and baits.
- Assist trades personnel with various plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry maintenance or projects.
- Meetings; Attend daily Department of Public Works meeting for specialized coordination and situational awareness.
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in building and grounds maintenance or custodial work.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic knowledge of light/heavy-duty equipment used for mowing operations and snow removal.
- Must have knowledge of general cleaning and lawn care, to include the skills to operate all associated equipment respectively.
- Must also be able to understand all hazmat and environmental policies associated with products that are used with this position.
- Knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic trades skills.
- Will train the appropriate candidate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Vehicle operators license (class C Minimum),
- Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Employee must be able to work in dusty/dirty conditions with minimal respiratory accommodations.
- Employee must be able to operate large, complex grounds machinery and cleaning equipment.
- Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, potential explosives, and/or the outdoor elements.
