Position: Building Custodian - Powell Middle School

Duties:

Serve as a member of the District's custodial team. To maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence and provide students with a safe, attractive, clean, and comfortable environment so they can take full advantage of the District's educational opportunities; to contribute to a positive school atmosphere by offering pleasant, accommodating custodial services for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent required

Demonstrated attitude, ability to communicate with and support other staff members, students and visitors

Demonstrated experience or training to be proficient in basic institutional custodian skills of restroom cleaning, carpet care, floor tile care, and sanitation

Demonstrated ability to be an active, positive, supportive team member

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and utilize dolly's and/or material movement aids to move heavy equipment and freight

Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out annual and summer cleaning schedules

Basic knowledge and understanding of building systems to include electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling

Ability to conduct minor repairs to the building and grounds

Such additions or modifications to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

Salary: District Support Services Wage Schedule - 2025-2026 Base = $18.60/hour

Employment Term: Eight (8) hours per day, twelve (12) months per year, with benefits as provided in Administrative Regulations/Operational Procedures

Beginning Date: As soon as mutually agreeable after appointment.
