Position Summary

Mt. Bachelor Bartenders play a big role in the Food & Beverage Departments success. There are bars located in each of our lodges and vary in size and volume and each has its own personality that we try to match with our bartenders. Our bartenders create a fun atmosphere while still providing a safe space for guests and employees.

Major Responsibilities/ Daily Essential Functions

• Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment by greeting and acknowledging every guest, answering commonly asked questions, and moving the guest through the service process promptly.

• Serve all drinks according to specified recipes and be familiar with all products, up-sell items, and give recommendations according to current promotions.

• Extensive guest interaction and requires excellent customer service skills.

• Accurately ring in all items and adhere to department standards and accounting practices.

• Handle cash accurately and always keep Mt. Bachelor assets safe.

• The position requires a current OLCC server permi t and is required to always follow OLCC rules and regulations. OLCC permit must be carried on your person while on shift.

• Perform opening and closing duties. Prepare the restaurant for next-day business.

• Must check identification, limit service according to time and amount being served, and refuse alcohol service to anyone visibly intoxicated.

• Clean and sanitize service stations and keep them in an orderly manner throughout the shift.

• Maintain a professional and personable appearance.

• Maintain recommended standards for health, cleanliness, and safety.

• Knowledge of beer, wine, and liquors

• Have a working knowledge of computers and POS systems.

• Notify the manager, supervisor, or bar lead of inventory excess or potential shortage.

• Accountable for accurate timekeeping. Responsible for clocking in and out with employee passes.

• Completes any reasonable task assigned by the supervisor.

• Observe mountain-wide policies found in the Employee Handbook.

Secondary Function

• Assist management with the set-up and breakdown of all special events.

• Assist with food service and bussing tables.

• Snow removal duties.

Interpersonal Contacts

Extensive guest and employee interaction.

Specific Job Skills/Certifications

• License/Certifications: Oregon Food Handlers Card and OLCC permit

• Technical: Must be proficient with computers and POS systems.

• Physical Capabilities: Must be able to change and/or move full kegs of beer. Able to stand and move around quickly for long periods.

• Additional: Must have a positive attitude. Flexible with hours and days of work. Able to work any hours of the day, any day of the week. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Superb customer service and problem-solving skills. Must work well under pressure.

Education/Related Experience

• Minimum education required : High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum time in related position : 2+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume business required.

  • In addition to the specific conditions below, every position at Mt. Bachelor requires the ability to shovel snow, lift up to 10 pounds, and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.

• While performing the duties of this role, the employee will be required to frequently bend, reach, climb, push, pull, lift over 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods. Additionally, the position will require frequent visual concentration, rapid reactions to changes, and the utilization of hand/eye coordination.

Current Hiring Ra te : $16/hr

Minimum Age Requirement: 21+
