Job Details We are hiring a part-time sommelier for Lord's, an English bistro in Greenwich Village.Our sommelier are responsible for selling wine during dinner service, upholding cleanliness of the dining room and wine station, taking food and beverage orders from guests, maintaining food and beverage knowledge, running food and drinks, bussing and resetting tables, putting away inventory, and assisting elsewhere in the dining room as needed. Our sommeliers report to the Assistant General Manager, the General Manager, the Owners and the Chef de Cuisine.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a positive workplace culture, displaying great hospitality to our guests and colleagues, cooking delicious food, and serving delicious cocktails -- we expect our team to maintain and improve all elements of the restaurant.
The ideal candidate has Manhattan sommelier experience and a passion for talking about wine. Our service style is professional yet approachable and our ideal candidate prioritizes making the guest happy with their wine choice (not making the biggest sale). We are looking for a part-time sever with availability on Monday and Tuesday with the potential to cover shifts as needed. There are also server shifts available on Wednesday and Saturday, if interested in both roles. Start date is as soon as possible. Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($16.50) plus tips
