Maintenance Mechanic Technician Job Description The primary purpose of this position is to manage and maintain all equipment at the manufacturing facilities. This individual will be responsible for assisting with the installation, repair, maintenance, and monitoring of industrial processing and production machinery, involving work with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Responsibilities Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery using a computerized management system (Fiix). Troubleshoot and maintain motors, gear boxes, screw conveyors, electrical systems, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment. Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics. Source replacement parts and perform repairs. Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime. Safely operate power tools, hoists, and hand tools. Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers, and specifications. Maintain parts and tools inventory. Perform maintenance and repairs on dry product production equipment, including various conveying, reduction, screening, blending, and packaging equipment items. Conduct maintenance and repairs on liquid product production equipment, including motors, pumps, piping, fillers, and packaging equipment. Maintain and repair the fleet of forklifts, pneumatic semi-bulk trailers, and company-owned vehicles. Handle facility-related needs and equipment maintenance such as HVAC systems, electrical control cabinets, electrical lighting, minor plumbing repairs, etc. Essential Skills Mechanical experience with some electrical is a plus. Experience with gear boxes, elevators, confined space, LOTO. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems. Welding and fabrication experience to create parts. Proficiency in preventive maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, and fabrication. Ability to change gear boxes and work with production machines and equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications 5 years of experience in related areas. Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies. Ability to learn and utilize computerized plant maintenance software Fiix. Efficiently maintain tools and parts inventory. Capability to perform maintenance and repair work independently. Willingness to oversee outsourced maintenance and repair items when necessary. Preparedness to work overtime and be on-call when needed. Willingness to travel to other manufacturing sites and airbases for equipment installation and troubleshooting. Ability to work alongside production operators in production and shipping and receiving. Courteous demeanor and ability to work respectfully with others.
