Janitor Job Description As a Janitor, you will be responsible for managing various types of waste within the building, ensuring that materials such as cardboard, metals, oils, and general trash are handled appropriately. You will operate equipment such as a hi lo to move bales of cardboard and adhere to safety protocols for storing and disposing of liquids like oils and cleaning solvents. Responsibilities Operate the cardboard bailer and move bales as directed. Properly dispose of metals in designated dumpsters. Contain and remove oils, placing them in appropriate containers. Transport general trash from the plant floor to dumpsters. Operate a hi lo to move bales of cardboard and other materials. Maintain awareness of certain liquids and ensure proper storage. Essential Skills Experience in janitorial duties and trash removal. Ability to operate a forklift. Understanding of different materials such as oils, cleaning solvents, cardboard, and metals. Physical ability to lift 40 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Gauge experience is a nice-to-have. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
