ResponsibilitiesIf you’ve been complimented on your maintenance skills, we have the perfect job for you! The largest spa in the world currently has an opportunity for an Engineer II – a Engineering Maintenance Technician who’s had at least 2 - 3 years of experience in a commercial setting and can work independently. We don’t like to micromanage!
This mid-level position will allow you to use your working knowledge of commercial electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and HVAC. Your supervisors would all say you’re a jack of all trades and you can do anything from patching sheetrock to repairing cabinetry.
Operations: Performs general and preventative maintenance: In hotel rooms, offices, common areas, locker rooms, spa and pool areas, gyms, Residences (Canyon Ranch Living) and public areas. Scope of maintenance includes but is not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, mechanical and associated building trades. Assists in reconfigurations of furniture, gym equipment, medical equipment, etc. Responds to service calls, guests and colleague requests and performs minor repairs and other assigned project work. Refers guest issues or complaints to supervisor according to Canyon Ranch policy. Maintains excellent communication with co-workers and management. Safety: Performs daily maintenance of all pool and spa equipment to ensure proper operation and safety. Completes water tests and makes appropriate chemical adjustments to ensure proper balance following state Board of Health Codes. Maintains all records pertaining to testing for water quality. Assures that hot tubs and cold dips are drained and cleaned weekly following state Board of Health Codes. Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices to management immediately. Refers to SDS for proper chemical handling. Maintains the inventory of chemicals needed for testing and water balancing. Organization: Maintains a neat work space and storage area for parts and keeps accurate inventory of parts.Qualifications
Certification/License: Certified pool operator license is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance is required. One year of commercial maintenance technician work is preferred . Must possess a working knowledge of carpentry, tiling, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, cooling, and associated building trades. Must be able to perform or be capable of learning pool and spa care and gym equipment maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must understand and demonstrate Canyon Ranch's standards of excellence and meet them in work performance, ensuring the best guest experience. Must have good communication and writing skills; must be able to work with a variety of people. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to work well under pressure and with deadlines. Must be able to work productively independently and/or with minimum supervision. Must be able to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Must be knowledgeable in safety regulations and be safety conscious.
