Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Worker
Reports To: Director of Maintenance & Custodial
Contracted Days: Varies
Job Summary: The Maintenance Worker ensures that all district facilities and equipment remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Responsibilities include general construction, repair, groundskeeping, and seasonal maintenance tasks across all buildings and campuses.
Essential Duties :
- Adheres to assigned work hours and maintains regular, prompt attendance.
- Inspects facilities for maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Performs repairs and replacements of identified deficiencies.
- Responds to and addresses hazardous conditions to ensure safe environments.
- Conducts general groundskeeping duties as needed throughout the year.
- Maintains floors and surfaces in buildings district-wide.
- Assists with the movement of district property and equipment.
- Clears snow and ice from parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, and building entrances during inclement weather.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following trades preferred:
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- HVAC/Refrigeration
- Painting
- Locksmithing
- Flooring
- Masonry
- General construction

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Exposure to heavy dust from equipment is possible. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
