onsemi is looking to hire a Facilities Technician to support operations at our Nampa, ID site.Working as a Facilities Technician, you will be a part of a cross-functional facilities team responsible for all aspects of facilities maintenance and operations, material handling, emergency response, and other security-related tasks. You are expected to diligently learn new skills and share your knowledge of your trade with others on your team. Shift Work Schedule: Compressed 12-hour shift Night shift
RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities:
- Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security
- Follow safety procedures and area work rules, including proper PPE, lockout, and chemical safety.
- Perform Job Hazard Analysis for non-routine tasks where hazards are not understood before doing the task.
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Use proper lifting techniques and work ergonomically correctly.
- Identify and promptly report hazards.
- Maintain active involvement in safety discussions, training, and promoting safe work practices.
- Achieve and maintain Emergency Response Team (ERT) and medical responder (scene stabilization and light first aid) team certification.
- Perform basic security functions for the site
Maintenance and Operations:
- Operate, maintain, and repair various facilities and equipment, such as chillers, air handlers, boilers, and air compressors, to establish standards to ensure no manufacturing interruptions.
- Maintain building and all manufacturing environments, process chemicals, and utilities according to specifications to ensure optimal manufacturing conditions.
- Ensure all waste streams are monitored and controlled to prevent manufacturing interruptions and to satisfy all applicable environmental laws and agreements with local and state governmental agencies.
- Perform various work orders for tool installations, modifications, and other projects throughout the facility.
- Deliver process chemicals, load and monitor bulk chemical systems, change process gas cylinders, deliver spare parts, as well as pick up and properly dispose of spent containers.
- Use system data such as SPC and SCADA to make operational decisions and drive efficiencies.
- Teamwork and Contribution:
- Communicate and interact with others to maintain a supportive and team-oriented environment.
- Contribute to programs designed for continuous improvement within the Facilities department as well as across the manufacturing team in support of ISO TS 16949 and other certifications or benchmarking efforts.
- Ensure timely action in response to out-of-control or out-of-specification conditions that have safety, regulatory, or production impact implications.
- Contribute to off-shift coverage when needed to maintain adequate staffing.
- Accurately communicate and document actions in Maximo, Engineering Pass-Downs (EPDs), logbooks, emails, and other forms of communication.
- Understand and adhere to established facilities and organizational procedures.
Qualifications
- Formal trade school, vocational training, or equivalent experience and certification in one or more key building trades
- A minimum of 2+ years experience in construction or facilities maintenance.
- Must be proficient with office productivity software such as MS Word, Excel, and computerized machine control platforms.
- Flexibility and availability to work outside normal hours to handle emergency repairs or situations.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to load, unload, and move large equipment and tools. Continuous walking, stair/ladder climbing, and lifting.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize, and work with minimal supervision. Works well independently as well as in a team environment.
- A strong goal orientation and high energy level are critical.
- Familiarity working with a company experiencing rapid growth.
