Description of Work:
To manage day-to-day operations at the Visitor Services desk, including both walk up and tour/group visitation. Handle and reconcile cash and credit card transactions related to admissions, memberships, and tours/events. Manage Visitor Services software, including troubleshooting, data accuracy, and reporting. Check in, prepare, and price wholesale merchandise to be featured in the Museum Store. Oversee visitor safety and building security, monitoring UNL security camera feeds. In conjunction with Operations Manager and Operations Assistant, hire, train, and supervise part-time Visitor Services personnel. Assist volunteer docents working with Visitor Services and Education Coordinator, insuring positive visitor experiences. Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school or equivalent experience and four years relevant public services and/or sales experience required; equivalent education/experience considered. Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced public service environment. High level of comfort with technology and knowledge of spreadsheet software essential.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Business, Public Service, Public Relations or related field preferred. Experience with word processing and database software, cash handling, and credit card transactions. Public service coordination or retail management experience. Passion for quilting and/textile arts.Posted Salary: $16.00/hr
