Custodian for Raven Court

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented custodian to be responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of our new Raven Court basketball facility. A key responsibility is the proper cleaning and upkeep of gym floors. This is a full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate events on nights and weekends.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read basic operating instructions.

Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor and others.

Ability to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., lifting objects on a regular basis, walking, standing for an extended period, etc).

Experience:

No experience is required, but experience in cleaning and maintaining gym floors is encouraged.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Perform thorough cleaning of the gymnasium floor, including sweeping, mopping, and operating floor cleaning equipment.
• Apply appropriate finishes and maintain the integrity of the gym floor surface.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors to meet district safety guidelines.
• Empty trash receptacles throughout the facility.
• Clean and disinfect locker rooms and shower areas.
• Wipe down and disinfect benches, tables, and other surfaces.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
• Vacuum or sweep and mop hallways, lobbies, and other common areas.
• Ensure the facility is stocked with necessary supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning products).
• Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness of school grounds (pick up debris).
• Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Athletics Director or Facilities Director

Communication

• Report, on a timely basis, maintenance and repairs of buildings when needed.
• Report on a timely basis, cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Inform the Facilities Director of the inability to report to work in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, lifting and pushing.
