JOB SUMMARY: As a Prep Cook, you'll be the backbone of our kitchen, setting the stage for every dish that leaves the line. You'll work behind the scenes, preparing ingredients with precision, keeping the kitchen organized, and supporting our chefs to ensure smooth and efficient service. This is a hands-on opportunity to grow your culinary skills in a fast-paced and professional kitchen. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare ingredients for service, including washing, chopping, measuring, and portioning according to kitchen standards. Follow recipes and prep lists accurately to ensure consistency across all dishes. Assist with basic cooking tasks such as making stocks, sauces, or dressings as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all prep areas, coolers, and dry storage. Properly label and store all ingredients and prepared items to ensure freshness and food safety. Support chefs and line cooks during service as needed-stepping in wherever help is required. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly. Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local and state regulations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Prep Cook or in a professional kitchen environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced setting Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team-first mindset Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Valid California Food Handler Certification The Estate Yountville offers an attractive compensation and benefits package and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.
