General Description
As a Server at Andina, you will report directly to the Front of House Manager. This is a part-time, non-exempt, onsite position. You will be responsible for providing all guests of Andina with a memorable hospitality experience by knowledgeably and enthusiastically serving food and drinks in regular and private dining settings, anticipating guest and team member needs, and ensuring a smooth, efficient service. As an Andina employee, you are responsible for contributing to and upholding a workplace that is weing, inclusive, and equitable for all team members.
Schedule
Schedule will vary. Availability to work Friday and Saturday evenings is required. Andina currently operates on a 7 day per week schedule, with Happy Hour and dinner available each night from 4-9pm. We will be launching our new brunch service in June, to run on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-2pm.
Essential Duties
As a Server at Andina, you will be responsible for:
Warmly greeting guests once they are seated.
Studying and understanding Andina's brand history, its past and present and future evolution.
Studying, tasting, and understanding each dish and beverage on our menus in order to knowledgeably and persuasively describe the menu to our paying guests.
Accurately, enthusiastically, and knowledgeably curating the dinner experience for each table, with attention to brand values of connection, story, and inclusivity.
Understanding and strategically planning around Andina's per person spend targets.
Takingplete and accurate food and drink orders from guests and entering them into our POS system according to Andina's step of service.
Proactively asking guests about allergies and/or dietary restrictions, and providing alternatives or alterations as needed.
Communicating with managers and kitchen about any allergies or dietary restrictions following allergy ticket protocol set by the restaurant.
Checking guests identification to ensure that they meet the minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol.
Monitoring and observing guests' dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, and responding promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
Ringing in drinks and running drinks to tables
Presenting and pouring wine ordered at the table, and adhering to wine service standards of the restaurant.
Preparing checks, collecting accurate payment, and entering tips correctly.
Accurately preparing checkout at the end of your shift, following cash handling procedures set by the restaurant.
Properly setting the pace of the meal by coursing and firing items to the kitchen according to Andina s standards.
Maintaining constant, clear, and respectfulmunication with support staff, keeping them aware of w guests are in their meal and what to expect next.
Attending to the maintenance of tables by overseeing and assisting with clearing and resetting between courses, anticipating guests needs, providing appropriate silverware and place settings, and water service.
Running food and drinks to tables as needed.
Maintainingmunication with management, keeping them aware of any issues, concerns and timing at your tables.
Assisting in areas outside of your assigned station during service.

Maintaining service stations throughout the course of service.
Completing daily opening and closing side work as assigned by management.
Complying with all safety and sanitation (including handwashing) guidelines and procedures
Attending all scheduled meetings and training.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years experience working in a Front of House role at a high volume restaurant.
Previous serving experience.
Experience working with cuisine-driven menus.
Demonstrated knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails.
Valid permits, as required by and relevant to your position: Oregon Food Handlers permit, OLCC service permit.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment.
Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces.
Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments with moderate to high noise level.
