Job DetailsThe Aviary is looking for a part-time Bartender to join our team! The Bartender is an important part of the team, creating a memorable cocktail experience for our guests. This is a part-time position, paid hourly, and candidates will work up to 30 hours per week. Weekend availability is required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
The Aviary reinvents the cocktail lounge, crafting modernist cocktails that are visually striking, flavorfully complex, and ready to be paired with a delicious pre-fixe or a-la-carte dining experience by The Alinea Group. Venture beneath The Aviary and you will find yourself in The Office, a vintage-inspired speakeasy that holds a rare collection of spirits to be enjoyed in your favorite cocktail or on the rocks. The Aviary was named Outstanding Bar Program in the U.S. by the James Beard Foundation in 2013. It won the coveted Spirited Award for the Worlds Best Cocktail Menu in 2014 and has three times been featured on Drinks Internationals The Worlds 50 Best Bar list.
Responsibilities
- Creates cocktails and beverages for guests
- Adheres to alcohol serving regulations
- Actively participates in the positive relationship between FOH and BOH teams by maintaining a steady stream of communication with the entire team
- Complies with all health department requirements of food safety and staff hygiene, including but not exclusive to labeling, time and temperature
- Quality checks ingredients and all drink components before and during service to ensure a successful execution of the beverage menu
- Stores and maintains ingredients, bottles, glassware and service pieces precisely
- Resolves guests complaints/queries satisfactorily
- Reports any maintenance deficiencies immediately to appropriate personnel
- Maintains thorough understanding of industry and stays updated on industry trends
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with the public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment
Requirements
- 1 or more years bartending experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, chef-driven environment
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Thinks clearly, quickly, and maintains concentration during high pressure situations
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- Must be able to move, pull or lift at least 35 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift
