Sous Chef / Restaurant Manage

Aggies African Restaurant, a popular, high-volume restaurant that has been around for 14 years, is looking for a sous chef to help our chef supervise the daily back-of-house operations with a cheery attitude. Responsibilities include creating daily specials, managing and directing food prep and cooking, working the line, and complying with safety and cleanliness standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with management at all levels, help manage, motivate and inspire our small kitchen team, and ensure our customers have a pleasant dining experience, with all plates properly cooked and served on time. Work schedule includes day, evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
Manage back & front of the house staff
Work the line
Help supervise food prep and cooking
Check food plating and temperature
Budgeting and inventory Control
Train kitchen staff in prep work and food plating techniques
Store food products in compliance with safety practices
Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

Qualifications
Minimum of 1-year proven work experience in back and front of house leadership role (Kitchen Manager, Supervisor, Sous Chef)
Team player with excellent organizational skills Strong work ethic & reliable
High volume kitchen experience
Ability to help manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
Food Handler Safety and TABC Certified
Cover POS system a plus
