Join our Team! The Town of Estes Park has several vacancies for the position of Utility Worker I These positions will work in our Power & Communications Division. - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Utility Worker I:
- Entry level position. Experience in general construction or municipal government is preferred.
- Valid Colorado Drivers license and satisfactory driving record. Out of state candidates must be able to obtain Colorado Drivers License within six months of hiring date.
- Ability to learn to read and interpret maps and electrical drawings.
- Willing to learn and ability to safely use hand tools and small engine power tools (i.e. Chainsaw; saws all; impact driver, etc.).
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods of time in all types of weather, including: operating tools on power poles; lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading heavy items and materials; hand-digging in excavation/backfill work using shovels, picks, and rakes.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to drive and operate motorized equipment, including heavy-duty 1 ton Town vehicles, general electrical equipment.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Must be able to work a variable work schedule including overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
