Position Summary
We are currently hiring for hotel events porter this role requires open availability on the weekends. As a member of the events porter team at Wythe Hotel you play one of the most critical roles in ensuring that our events are set up for success. Our porter staff are adaptable, knowledgeable, proficient and capable. Porters are the unsung hero of the event, a bridge between behind the scenes and event production that are the pillar of delivering a beautiful and well operated event. This job is physically demanding and requires the ability to easily lift up to 30 pounds to include tables, chairs, bar set-up and couches.
Key Responsibilities
- General maintenance of events spaces to include; mopping the Garden Terrace, Main Hall and Cellar Dining Room.
- Building event specific set-up to include; pipe draping, corporate stages and tables.
- Following event floor plans to set-up client approved rooms.
- Organizing rental and in-house furniture in appropriate storage spaces to keep guest facing areas clear.
- Ability to efficiently manage time to set-up wedding ceremony chairs, banquet spaces and corporate events for serving staff to begin FOH set-up.
- Late-night / early morning availability is a must to ensure rooms are set-up well in advance of client arrival.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining pristine and organized event spaces for clients and hotel guests.
- Setting up event spaces with attention to detail and efficiency.
- Communication and openness to active problem solving as client needs change.
- Cleanliness and excellent organization skills to create a beautiful first impression for guests.
