The Member Assistant are driven individuals focused on building long-term, value-based member relationships that enable achievement of acquisition and retention goals. The Member Assistant creates, maintains Membership information to deliver results at or above company expectations.

The Membership Assistant is responsible for assisting with administrative and sales support tasks relating to Membership. In the absence of Membership Director, the Membership Assistant meets with prospects, obtain information, answers question and gives club tours.

This position plays a key role in the daily interaction and direction of all Cub members/Vendors/staff. All tasks and assignments encompassing this position are to be performed in aim of achieving all Departmental/Club operational objectives at the highest level in support of the vision of Fisher Island Club.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an ambassador to member needs and inquiries. Effectively responds to all member comments in accordance with Club standards, policies and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continually improve the services provided to members
  • Provides support for the club's executive offices as directed
  • Assist in maintaining membership files ensuring the completion of all required forms
  • Initiate requests for and distribute new member cards/guest cards
  • Assist with internal and external communication for Member events including emails, phone calls, marketing materials, etc.
  • Help lead Member engagement initiatives
  • Accurately maintain Membership Database
  • Update Event Paperwork and Communicate to appropriate Departments
  • Ensure superior customer service by sustaining a culture, through actions and example, wholly committed to listening to members and guests, understanding their needs, and exceeding their expectations
  • Create and deepen relationships with members and enhance their sense of belonging and community within the club by reaching out to "your" members in person and by phone and email
  • Handle member issues proactively, "own" member problems that come to your attention and solve those issues within a 24-hour period
  • Be knowledgeable about your job, the company, and our services, promotions and business practices so that you can provide members and guests with consistent and accurate information
  • Have knowledge of all Club events on seasonal calendar, amenities and outlets
  • Assist with mailings (internal/external)
  • Conduct office supply inventory and monthly storage room inventory
  • Open, process, close and file Z Accounts for Member and Reciprocal Guests.
  • Maintain member files current as delegated
  • Assemble new membership enrollment kits
  • Take messages accurately to include whom the message is for, name of caller, what the call is in reference to, date and time of the call.
  • Transfer all lines to voicemail when leaving for the day and un-transfer lines from voice mail first thing each morning.
  • Have knowledge of Club departments and management team
  • Have knowledge of guest rules for all categories of memberships
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and some college preferred
  • Professional with impeccable integrity and unquestionable ethical and moral standards
  • Computer knowledge required. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft office
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Be a team player in all situations who is able to work within the organizational structure of the company and who can also comfortably take supervision.
  • Possess self-confidence and be disciplined
  • Possess a professional personal appearance
  • Possess high levels of energy and enthusiasm
  • Must be able to work weekends/holidays and evening as required
  • Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all member information

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment and outdoor walking/standing for extended periods
  • Ability to a flexible schedule to include, but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have ability to meet deadlines
