Custodial Positions

$18.41 to $21.21 DOE

Health Insurance, Sick/ESST Time, Paid Vacation and Holidays, 403(b), and PERA Pension

Performs intermediate manual work maintaining educational facilities in a clean and safe manner, including outside of the building, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Building and Grounds Director.

Essential Functions

Performs custodial cleaning duties to include dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.

Cleans surfaces to include washing desks, tables, drinking fountains, and windows.

Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies.

Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.

Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facility and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.

Ensures the building is secure; doors are locked; spills and tripping hazards removed.

Moves and fixes furniture.

Reports needs and concerns to the Buildings and Grounds Director.

Covers absences when necessary.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of district policies and procedures; thorough knowledge of School Crisis Planning Guide and related emergency documents (evacuation, lockdown, fire, weather); general knowledge of maintenance manuals, chemical distribution and procedural manuals; ability to maintain time sheets and order supplies;

ability to use the tools of trade;

ability to make arithmetic computations;

general knowledge of First Aid;

ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with staff, faculty, students and parents.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and minimal ex
