We areseeking a full timeor part time seasonal Host for the breakfast shift 6am 2pm Wage1600hr plus tips Primary Purpose of Position The restaurant HostHostess is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant Host accurately maintains the reservation book quickly and courteously greets all guests at the door and professionally seats guests while keeping in mind station rotation and progress of servers They provide courteous and efficient service to all guests and promote teamwork among co workers The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess making their job critical in the overall satisfaction of our guests Essential Duties and Responsibilities Warmly and graciously greets all guests upon arrivalWhen possible open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurantManage the reservation book and wait listCall out name and number of party when tables become availableProvide guests with estimated waiting time always maintaining a professional courteous attitude when confronted with hostile impatient or irate guestsAccommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possibleSeat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stationsUpon seating offer guests a menu and inform them of their servers name Inspect table for proper presentation and completenessRelay messages to servers and support staff as neededClean menus of food and stainsPerform other duties as assigned by the manager on dutyThank guests as they leave and invite them to returnComplete all opening and closing side work assignedWatch dining room to insure that it is clean and orderly at all timesAdhere to Leading Hotel of the World LHWstandards at all timesParticipate in related F&B trainingseminar program such as LHW classes and wine training as neededEducationExperience Minimum 14 years of ageAt least one year of hosting experience in a high volume upscale restaurant preferredPrior experience with Open Table preferredSpecial SkillsEquipment Strong organizational skills requiredMaintain a professional appearanceAbility to operate in a hospitable cheerful manner during high stress situations requiredMust be a team player and demonstrate organizational skillsMust have excellent interpersonal skills and confidenceExcellent verbal and telephone skills to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with our guestsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentFluency in other languages a plusBe flexible and willing to assist as needed to ensure all restaurant standards are metEssential Physical Requirements Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 8 hoursPosition primarily performed indoors assisting a variety of guestsWorking conditions will vary with season; high traffic during peak season medium traffic during off seasonShould be prepared to work long hours and able to stand for an extended timeAbility to lift up to 20lbsEmployee Conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to contribute to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co workers guests and vendorsBenefits Resort DiscountsHoliday PaySick Pay401k Retirement Plan & Roth 401k After one year and 1000 hours workedEmployee Assistance ProgramParking Credit or Discounted Bus Passes
