The Hostess or Host is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in ensuring a pleasant dining or event experience. This individual will greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and coordinate with the service staff to create a smooth and enjoyable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet Guests: Warmly welcome guests upon arrival with a friendly demeanor and a smile.
Seat Guests: Escort guests to their seats, ensuring they are comfortable and satisfied with their seating.
Manage Reservations: Handle phone calls, online bookings, and walk-in guests, and organize seating charts to accommodate reservations and wait lists efficiently.
Monitor Wait lists: Accurately maintain the wait list during busy periods, provide wait times, and communicate with guests as tables become available.
Coordinate with Service Staff: Work closely with servers, supervisors and management to ensure tables are ready for new guests and that seating arrangements run smoothly.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the reception, waiting area, and menus clean and organized.
Handle Guest Inquiries: Answer questions about the menu, services, or venue, and provide information on special promotions or events. Assist in Guest Complaints: Politely and professionally handle guest concerns or complaints, escalating issues to management as needed. Prepare for Events: Assist in setting up special events, including arranging tables, preparing seating charts, and providing excellent guest support during events.
Qualifications:
Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and capable of delivering a positive guest experience.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and listening skills to interact with guests and staff effectively.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage reservations, wait lists, and seating charts efficiently.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle guest inquiries or complaints calmly and professionally.
Requirements:
We offer both Full-Time and Part-Time employment for this role. This vacancy is the Full-Time role.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus but not mandatory.
Familiarity with reservation and seating software is beneficial.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
