Barista position
We are located in Bristol Bay Alaska! (Naknek)
We typically hire for seasonal employees, and our busy season is now-August 1st. However, we have possibility for a full-time position managing the shop if you are interested at the end of the season once you have given us a try!
REQUIREMENTS: BE 21 YEARS OLD.
Company housing and a vehicle for transportation to work will be provided but you must have a clean driving record and a driver's license to be on our insurance.
Skills needed:
* Be a morning person! We need someone who can be opening at 7:30 am possibly earlier if we get more staff in the future. (6:30 or 7 am)
* Experience as a barista is not required but helpful.
* A willingness to learn new barista skills even if you have previous experience. Please keep an open mind because we are committed to quality and consistency in our drink making. This includes puck prep, pulling shots, steaming milk, and sequence in drink making. We may do things differently than your previous shop and our methods are not a suggestion, we require consistency in what we produce. People want to come in and get the same drink no matter who is making it.
* Being able to work well with others. The space is small and the team behind the espresso bar needs to support each other. Many times, baristas will support each other on sequencing the same drinks to get them out faster, it helps with the flow, but it is important to understand our spaces are not large and working behind the counter together is a must. Keeping a positive attitude creates a better work environment for your coworkers and an overall better experience for customers.
* Being able to multitask quickly without being stressed out.
* Learn to use cash register and basic math for counting back change.
* Obtain a food handlers card before we hire you.
* food prep - breakfast and lunch sandwiches along with serving a variety of pastries.
* Doing dishes - Cleaning our coffee tools requires some extra effort. We sanitize properly every day and steps can not be skipped. It is extremely important that we keep our tools and machine clean and functioning properly.
* Stock the coffee bar and store with merchandise.
