Custodian

Custodian Job Description: Oversee the cleaning, safety, and quality of our building and facility. The custodian will assist with cleaning floors, overseeing the cleaning equipment, coordinating with other cleaning staff, and ensuring common areas are free of obstructions. The day-to-day operations of a custodian may go from vacuuming to mopping floors. We are seeking a custodian who will take their job seriously and work closely with the custodial manager to oversee the building's maintenance requirements. Custodian Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure trash receptacles (trash cans) are cleared. Use cleaning chemicals and other cleaning agents safely. Provide regular mopping to bathrooms and common areas. Oversee all cleaning duties of the restrooms. Wash and sanitize restroom fixtures, doors and walls. Restock toilet paper in restrooms. Vacuum carpets when needed. Mop common area spills. Spray disinfectant as instructed. Handle custodial equipment and other essential equipment. Work closely with the head custodian and handle essential functions of the custodial work. Follow custodial checklist for daily duties. Report common maintenance problems to the head custodian. Qualified candidates should have the following: High school diploma preferred but not required. Previous experience as custodial staff. Good organizational skills Ability to be flexible and change priorities as needed. Ability to operate equipment (and tools) like vacuum cleaners, floor machines, and other equipment that may require physical demands. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and building cleaners preferred. Essential Job Requirements: Ability to work 8 hours per day. Ability to perform simple grasping, pushing, and pulling. Ability to stoop, bend, reach and squat as required. Ability to communicate with staff in a professional manner. Ability to lift 40 lbs
