Part-Time Groundskeeper - Private Residence (Shavertown, PA) (Shavertown) compensation: starting at $18 per hour, negotiable based on years of experience employment type: experience level: entry level job title: Groundskeeper We are seeking a part-time (8-12 hours per week, flexible schedule) private groundskeeper to help maintain a large, 3-acre residential property in Shavertown, PA. This role requires a highly dependable, respectful, and proactive individual with strong attention to detail and (ideally) prior experience in general property maintenance. Also willing to help train the novice candidate to get up to speed. The ideal candidate will help keep the property's exterior spaces clean, functional, and visually appealing year-round. Responsibilities: Weekly lawn maintenance: mowing, trimming, edging, and debris removal Basic landscaping care: weeding, mulching, and maintaining garden beds Power washing and surface cleaning of home exterior, garages, and pool/pool house Light pool maintenance: skimming, cleaning, and basic chemical checks (training provided if needed) Assist with irrigation systems (monitoring, basic troubleshooting, seasonal shutoff/startup) Troubleshoot and repair minor outdoor lighting issues (bulbs, timers, wiring inspection) Install and remove seasonal outdoor decor (holiday lights, planters, etc.) Light pest control tasks: managing traps, applying deterrents, and monitoring for critter activity Seasonal cleaning: fall leaf clean up, winter walk way salting and snow removal Occasional exterior handyman help (minor fixes, tool organization, etc.) Time and inventory management Qualifications: Prior experience with landscaping, groundskeeping, or residential maintenance preferred or the ability to learn groundskeeping tasks quickly Basic understanding of pool, irrigation, and lighting systems a plus Able to work independently and take initiative Must be comfortable with outdoor labor in a variety of weather conditions Highly trustworthy, dependable, professional, and respectful of private property Reliable transportation (current and valid PA driver's license) required References preferred but not required for first contact Because this position involves access to private residential property, we kindly request the right to conduct a background check prior to finalizing any offer.
