Job DetailsThe Burnham Park Yacht Club is situated in the Museum Campus Area of Chicagos Lakefront on Northerly Island serving boaters in Burnham Harbor. Our Clubhouse offers magnificent views of the harbor activity as well as a panoramic scope of Chicagos skyline.
Job Description: Bartender
SUMMARY: We are looking for an enthusiastic Bartender with upscale experience to provide exceptional service for our members. Qualified candidates will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding members needs and expectations. Compensation is $15/hour plus tips. Shift Meals each day worked.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons to club standards
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks
- Assess customers needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Check customers identification and confirm he or she meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Arrange, set-up and breakdown station
- Attend daily line up meetings
- Assist in performing daily side work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a bartender in an upscale environment
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Computer literacy
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
- Relevant training certificate (Basset Training and Serve Safe)
Performance Standards:
- Meets all company service standards
- Maintains upbeat, guest-first, positive attitude
- Be able to reach, bend, lift up to 40 pounds
Compensation: $15/hour plus tips.
