About the Role
Seaport Entertainment is looking for a Seasonal Host to join our team! Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is responsible for welcoming/greeting guests to the restaurant and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service. The Host duties include maintaining a waitlist of guests during service, distributing menus, confirming restaurant contact information to guests, accepting phone calls, making and adjusting reservations, as well as working with the service team to ensure the restaurant is seated in a timely and efficient manner.
What You Will Do
Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, manage the waitlist efficiently, and escort them to their designated tables, providing a positive first impression.
Handle reservations, confirm bookings, and maintain an organized system to optimize table turnover and accommodate guest preferences.
Effectively communicate with the restaurant staff to coordinate seating arrangements, manage guest flow, and address any special requests or considerations.
Assist guests with inquiries, provide information about the menu, and offer guidance on restaurant policies to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Keep the host/hostess station and waiting area tidy, contributing to the overall cleanliness and attractiveness of the restaurant.
Address guest concerns or issues with professionalism and tact, seeking assistance from management when needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as answering phones, managing reservations, and coordinating with servers, while maintaining a positive and composed demeanor.
Promote special events, menu items, or promotions to guests, contributing to increased sales and overall customer enjoyment.
Work collaboratively with the serving staff, kitchen team, and management to facilitate a smooth and efficient dining service.
About You
1+ year of host experience in a fine dining, high volume setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage waitlist dynamics effectively.
Positive and friendly attitude, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Familiarity with reservation systems and basic restaurant operations is a plus.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).
Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Climbing steps regularly.
Compensation: $ 1 8 2 0 per hour
