Overview

As our Nutrition Coffee Shop Lead, you will engage with customers, make drinks and food, process payments, organize and stock the sales floor and provide an overall positive brand experience to customers. Additionally, you will assist in scheduling, manage vendor relationships, and be responsible for adequate shift coverage. This is a part-time, hourly position.

The Lead Barista demonstrates knowledge of coffee equipment, coffee brew methods and extraction basics, milk science, and bar efficiency.

The Lead Baristas duties include, but are not limited to, engaging with guests and providing prompt and friendly customer service, preparing quality food and beverages, maintaining a sanitary and comfortable environment for Museum patrons and staff, and assisting the Head of Food and Beverage with barista training, menu development, and ordering as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.
  • Sells and serves products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Continues to learn and educate themselves on whole bean knowledge, coffee blends, tea products, bakery items, coffee brewing, and blended products.
  • Participates in all sales promotions effectively and efficiently.
  • Safely handles all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation.
  • Ensures that all customers are educated on our products and services
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current (within the past 12 months) ServSafe Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified, certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
