Position Details
General Statement
This position provides maintenance and custodial service for interiors/exteriors of the Great Falls College MSU campus. Primary emphasis is on maintenance of facilities and ancillary equipment with added duties to include daytime trash removal, restroom cleaning, removal of snow during winter months and other related duties. Maintenance Worker I may work individually or in cooperation with Maintenance Supervisor on tasks as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
General facilities maintenance
Facility security and safety
Event setup and teardown
Custodial functions as required
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
High School diploma or GED
One year of facilites maintenance and repair in a commercial/educational setting
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC
Detail oriented and task driven
Ability to follow verbal and written direction and function as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools
Knowledge of basic facilities maintenance techniques and best practices
Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools
Knowledge of grounds maintenance to include mowing and snow removal
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and principles
Organizational skills
The Successful Candidate Will
Ability to obtain a Low-Pressure Boiler license within 6 months of employment.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot building systems.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other maintenance staff and departments.
Punctuality - consistently at work and on time.
Excellent oral communication skills - speaks persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings.
Excellent written communication skills - writes informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
Excellent customer service skills - manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; meets commitments.
