The hotel features 247 rooms spread across 12 floors, setting a new standard for luxury accommodations in the DMV area. With the largest luxury meeting space in Northern Virginia, totaling 35,000 sq ft, it includes two ballrooms with 20-foot ceilings and plenty of natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows and a large skylight. The JW Residences occupy the remaining 16 floors. What will you be doing? Prepare and Cook Daily Meals

• Cook breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner offerings according to rotating menus and standardized recipes.
• Prepare hot entrees, sides, soups, salads, and grab-and-go options to support a well-rounded associate dining experience.

Ensure Food Quality and Presentation

• Taste and inspect food before service to ensure quality, consistency, and proper portioning.
• Follow established presentation standards, even in a non-guest-facing setting.

Maintain Cleanliness and Sanitation

• Keep kitchen, serving line, prep stations, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the shift.
• Follow food safety guidelines in compliance with local health codes and brand standards (e.g., proper handwashing, food storage, and temperature controls).

Execute Daily Cafeteria Service

• Set up and maintain the associate cafeteria line throughout service periods.
• Refill and rotate food items during meal periods to ensure freshness and availability.

Support Inventory and Prep

• Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing deliveries.
• Practice FIFO (first-in, first-out) and alert the Sous Chef or Cafeteria Supervisor of low stock or spoilage concerns.

Collaborate with Team Members

• Work closely with other cooks, stewards, and supervisors to support smooth service.
• Assist with prep or cleanup in other kitchen areas when needed.

Assist with Menu Planning and Feedback

• • Provide input on cafeteria menu planning based on associate feedback and food usage trends.
  • Help develop rotating meal offerings that reflect variety, nutrition, and morale-boosting options.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to pitch-in and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
