Overview

The Housekeeping Room Inspector conducts inspections, and maximizes the efforts of the entire department in order to ensure compliance with all standards of guest satisfaction, cleanliness, sanitation and productivity and efficiency set by the Hotel. The Room Inspectors position is to ultimately ensure that guests of the Magnolia Houston enter a unit that is clean, sanitary and welcoming. Each Inspector will play a vital housekeeping role in ensuring all guests experience the natural beauty comfort and custom hand finished details that our guest rooms offer. They will work with business/department leadership and team members to ensure the effectiveness and overall success of the department.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect your entire assigned section (guest rooms, linen rooms, hallways, public spaces, grounds etc.) to ensure cleanliness, safety and proper condition to meet or exceed departmental and Hotel standards.
  • Maintain and uphold all company policies, assist in the development of assigned employees through training and performance enhancement.
  • Report to the Housekeeping Manager on the performance and/or behavior of the employees assigned to the Supervisor.
  • Control keys, master and guest room keys, and maintain security of all guest rooms, both occupied and unoccupied. File key sign-out, sign-in sheets as directed.
  • Enforce safety regulations, precautions, and information to provide a safe working atmosphere for self and employees assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with Housekeeping Manager, Front Office, Engineering, Houseman staff and other departments and guests.
  • Follow Hotel procedures for reporting Housekeeping related maintenance issues.
  • Follow Hotel procedures for the handling of lost and found items given to you by Housekeeping personnel.
  • Adhere to Hotel procedures for sending or receiving messages on the two-way radio.
  • Maintain cleaning and chemical supplies including inventory and ordering if directed.
  • Assist with scheduled inventories of Housekeeping linens, amenities and other products.
  • Help maintain Housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, and rolling stock.
  • Participate in established programs designed to further professional growth and development
Qualifications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in housekeeping experience in rooms preferred
  • Must be able to work well under pressure;
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions (verbally and written);
  • Must possess guest facing communication skills;
  • High attention-to-detail
  • Bilingual
