Job Description
The Line Cooks primary responsibility is to cook in our kitchen, following our Executive Chefs specifications and guidelines ensuring total guest satisfaction. This is achieved by:
- Being able to read and follow recipes, follow directions and lists outlined by a chef
- Understanding and following the proper DOH food safety policies
- Being punctual and paying attention to detail
- Maintaining a positive and professional attitude with coworkers
- Working in a fast-paced and stressful environment without losing composure
- Having the ability to stand while working for long periods of time
- Performing other duties as directed
Required experience
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant (1+ years Manhattan experience)
- Understanding of various cooking methods and cuisines
- Maintain high-quality standards, clean work habits with a great attention to detail
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills
- Familiar with industrys best practices, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
