Job Details OyBar in Studio Citys is looking for experienced line cooks to join our team! Recently named to Eater's 38 Essential Los Angeles Restaurants, OyBar features modern bar/bistro food served in a 1970s vintage neighborhood bar. Our food is rooted in Jewish-American traditions and inspired by the cultural and culinary diversity of Los Angeles. Loved by Infatuation, the LA Times, Eater, and more - OyBar is an innovative and welcoming environment for staff and patrons alike. This is a lively, supportive, fun, fast-paced kitchen where someone with a collaborative spirit, passionate creativity, and a can-do attitude will thrive. This position is for dinner service and hours generally run from 2PM-11PM with appropriate breaks. Opportunities for growth and expansion of duties are definitely a part of the plan. Pay rate based on confirmed experience/demonstrated skills.Who you are: Punctual, thrives under pressure, full availability, reliable transportation to work. Main focus is to maintain high food standards, a clean, safe kitchen and follow all kitchen procedures as it pertains to recipes, cooking instructions, etc. according to local Health Department standards.
Job Duties include some or all of the below:
Grill/Griddle/Saute stations.
Executing menu items as directed by Chef / Sous Chefs
Following food safety protocols
Daily food prep and recipe maintenance
Quality Control
Showing up on time to scheduled shifts
Prepping, Setting up and Breaking down
Cleaning station and kitchen
Supporting others on your team as needed.
Maintaining and promoting a healthy, safe, respectful, positive work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional culinary experience (at least 2 years experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred but not required)
Comfort working a wide range of stations
Good team player
Organized
Reliable
Ability to multitask, and prioritize in fast-paced kitchen/service environment
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Food safety, allergen knowledge
Time management skills
Knowledge of California Health and Safety Standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours
May be required to lift containers of food or drinks up to 50 pounds
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and other tasks
Full Vaccination against COVID-19
Part time or full time positions possible.
Compensation: $20.00/hr or more + tips (depending on experience and responsibilities taken). Employee meals and discounts. Healthcare benefits possible.
