Summary/Objective

A Bartender/Server at Clear Creek Tahoe is responsible for operating the Club's bar through the production of classic & signature Club cocktails along with beer and wine service in an efficient manner without sacrificing quality, cleanliness, consistency of product and an exceptional bar experience for our Membership and their guests. The Lakehouse Bartender/Server would be expected to move freely between the Twin Pines dining room and outdoor areas, as part of the day-to-day operations.

  • Provide food and beverage service in the Lakehouse bar area.
  • Prepares all alcoholic, non-alcoholic, espresso-based drinks, and other beverages for our members and servers in accordance with our standardized recipes.
  • Prepares all condiments to garnish drink orders.
  • Maintains a clean bar at all times while wiping the bar surface regularly, disposing of debris and empty bottles, and washing stemware glasses behind the bar as needed.
  • Ensures that each member receives exceptional service by providing a friendly and welcoming environment: greet and acknowledge every guest, maintain outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
  • Set Twin Pines for daily service, based on the reservations
  • Look at upcoming events and make sure all dining areas are set appropriately
  • Perform assigned side work
  • Be aware of all server sections and familiar with all table and seat numbers.
  • Know the menu, specials, pricing, POS, etc.
  • Participate in the daily lineup
  • Provide consistently exceptional service
  • Checks and maintains stock of stemware, liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies. Communicates shortages to the Food and Beverage Manager in a timely manner.
  • Understand and use the appropriate glassware for all cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Act as a dining liaison between the Member &/or guest and the kitchen.
  • Be able to fully execute the overall steps-of-service in an efficient manner from welcome to farewell.
  • Follow all standards of service to provide a consistent dining experience.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of all food & beverage menus, including beer, wine, and spirits offerings.
  • Able to describe menu items offered in detail from memory.
  • Applies knowledge of food menu items including preparation and ingredients.
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to offer food specials, menu items, signature cocktails etc.
  • Understand how to operate a point-of-sale system to enter each table's orders correctly and expediently.
  • Know the dining room's setup for all dining meal periods as well as table and seat position numbering.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization storage locations (cups, printer paper, refrigerated items, etc.)
  • Able to answer the phone with proper etiquette, take a to-go order, and make a reservation.
  • Able to setup, restock, and breakdown the bar.
  • Runs food and bus finished plates/drinks from the dining area.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and other non-alcoholic beverages from a bar area.
  • Setup, serve, and breakdown events hosted throughout various locations on Club property.
  • Execute pre- and post-shift responsibilities in an efficient manner.
  • Processes Member charge transaction through the point-of-sale terminal; prints, review and submits a daily charge report to the Manager on Duty.
  • Cleans, organizes, and maintains assigned stations and all service areas prior to, during, and after meal periods.
  • Address Members by name, making note of special preferences.
  • Communicates all feedback and concerns to management including issues with health, sanitation, staff, inventory, and guests.
  • Arrive to work in a timely manner in the appropriate uniform, following the grooming & uniform standards as outlined in Clear Creek Tahoe's handbook.
  • Provide general cleaning and upkeep of all restrooms during your shift.
  • Sweeps & cleans surrounding areas inside and outside the restaurant.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional ala carte dining | bar restaurant within a private Membership golf & home development. This role requires you to be on your feet for long periods of time and business can vary from the fast-paced lunch and/or dinner rush to filling downtime with side-work tasks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This job requires the employee to lift at least 50 pounds infrequently.

Qualifications

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

These hourly positions may be full-time, part-time, and seasonal. Days and hours of work are flexible with the Club operating daily during the summer season. Evening, weekend and holiday work are required as part of the job requirements.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional transfer to the Clubs Twin Pine Lake/Ski House may be required.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prior bartending experience with a specific focus on classic cocktails, craft beer, and fine wine knowledge is encouraged, though a positive attitude and eagerness to learn will overcome lack of experience.
  • ServSafe Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications are a requirement of employment. New team member must secure these certifications within 30 days of hire.
