We are seeking a reliable and skilled Cook to join our team at Old Town Patio, an established American food restaurant. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong commitment to maintaining food quality and cleanliness. As a cook, you will ensure smooth kitchen operations during operating hours and assist with final kitchen clean-up and shutdown.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of American-style dishes, following recipes and ensuring portion control.
-Quality Control: Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain our high standards.
Closing Duties:
- Properly store and label leftover food items.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, surfaces, and tools.
- Ensure all closing tasks, such as shutting down cooking stations and locking up the kitchen, are completed.
- Inventory Management: Notify the kitchen manager of any shortages or issues with ingredients and supplies.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff and maintain a positive working environment.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary role, preferably in an American food restaurant.
Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of proper food handling and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to work in a team environment and take direction.
- Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
- Able to maintain balance, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and wipe.
