Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Clinical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of clerical and reception duties to support the smooth operation of patient services. This position involves maintaining patient records, managing appointment scheduling, obtaining patient and insurance information, and checking patients in and out. The Clinical Receptionist will also provide support by answering phones and assisting with additional clerical tasks as needed. This role requires flexibility to work at any of our three clinic locations as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with nursing staff to facilitate patient care.
- Operate and manage a multi-line phone system, directing calls professionally.
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and family members, providing instructions and directions as needed.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Update and verify patient information within the electronic medical records system.
- Assist patients with required documentation and fee schedules as needed.
- Manage appointment changes, cancellations, no-shows, and maintain a waitlist when applicable.
- Ensure smooth clinic operations by monitoring schedules and informing providers of any delays.
- Assist distressed or ill patients, including arranging transportation when needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Actively promote a professional image and provide accurate information about clinic services.
- Participate in emergency situations, calling for EMS or assisting staff when needed.
- Assist with patient escorting, taking vitals, and preparing charts, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years medical or customer service reception experience required.
- Basic office skills such as typing and filing required.
- 1-3 years' experience within a medical specialty setting preferred.
- 1-3 years of medical assistant or nurse assistant experience preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience with chart preparation for medical visits preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
