Position Summary
The Scullery / Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishware. This role supports overall kitchen operations by ensuring the dish station and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, and takes pride in maintaining a clean working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial dishwashing machines to clean plates, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans.
- Manually wash large pots, pans, and kitchen equipment when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area and surrounding kitchen spaces.
- Remove trash, recyclables, and kitchen waste promptly and safely.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to maintain a safe, sanitary work environment.
- Restock clean items to appropriate locations for kitchen and service teams.
- Monitor dishwasher chemical levels and ensure equipment is functioning properly; report malfunctions to supervisor.
- Assist with deep cleaning tasks and kitchen closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs , bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Prior dishwashing or stewarding experience in a hotel or restaurant preferred, but not required.
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends, nights, and holidays.
