POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE

Office Receptionist—Early Childhood Education ABC Preschool

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.
  2. Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
  3. Three years of most recent verified successful experience in office management skills.
  4. Must demonstrate excellent human relations and clear communication skills.
  5. Must have experience with Macintosh and PC operations for automated printing, graphics, and spreadsheet.
  6. Ability to speak in the Navajo and English language preferred.
  7. Ability to be flexible in various performance responsibilities.

REPORTS TO

Early Childhood Education Coordinator

JOB GOAL

To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the Early Childhood Education Preschool programs.

PERFORMANCE REPONSIBLITIES

  1. Receives and routes all incoming telephone calls.
  1. Maintains a log of visitors to the preschool program.
  1. Sorts and distributes mail daily.
  1. Greets parents and guests and assists them in a courteous and friendly manner.
  1. Maintains daily teacher attendance log, calls, and arranges for substitute teachers, and maintains and processes timesheet records for substitute teachers to the Business Office for payroll processing in a timely manner.
  1. Maintains a current list of preschool student enrollment and coordinates efforts to ensure accurate student enrollment data with the Exceptional Student Services (ESS) administrative assistant.
  1. Supports the preschool personnel with submission of work orders for building and technology and warehouse supply.
  1. Communicates with various departments including Transportation, Food Service, District Security, Crisis Management Team, Health Services, and the Elementary School registrars for the smooth operation of preschool services.
  1. Maintains information on preschool program activities and disseminates accurate information to the public and other departments. This includes First Things First, Quality First Southwest Human Development and other grant funded personnel or documentation related to First Things First and Quality First Scholarships and Grants (e.g., Navajo County Health).
  1. Maintains daily communication with ESS Administration regarding building concerns and program activities.
  1. Reviews official documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to reporting requirements.
  1. Makes professional travel arrangements for the Early Childhood Education Coordinator and preschool staff.
  1. Orders and maintains supplies for the Early Childhood Education Program.
  1. Maintains accurate student attendance data and family records associated with Quality First Scholarship eligibility.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Ninety (90) days probationary period of employment at initial hire. Ten (10) months a year thereafter at Grade 3 on the Initial Placement Support Staff Salary Schedule. This position is non-exempt. The Governing Board will establish salary and work year.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on the Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
