Location: Fog City Foods, South San Francisco (a division of Draeger's Supermarkets)

Job Summary:

As a Deli Production Kitchen Team Member, you'll play a key role in preparing high-quality, gourmet deli foods for distribution to our stores. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of culinary experience in a production kitchen or as a line cook. Your culinary expertise will help maintain the excellence of our products while collaborating with the team to bring fresh, creative ideas to the table. The position is in-person only and reports to the Plant Superintendent and Sanitation Director.

Work Schedule:

1st Shift: 4:00 am - 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday (weekends and holidays as needed; Shifts subject to change depending on company needs.)

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Expected Hours: 40 per week

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Prepare gourmet deli items and ready-to-eat meals efficiently and consistently, adhering to company recipes, production guidelines, and standards (presentation, quality, etc.).

Collaborate with the team to develop and test new food ideas and offerings.

Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment.

Package, prep, and assist in shipping any/all deli foods.

Assist with monitoring inventory and communicate supply needs.

Maintain stock rotation following FIFO procedures.

Cook small batches of food and scale recipes smaller or larger as directed.

Qualifications:

Able to follow instructions and established procedures.

Proven culinary experience in a commercial kitchen or food production environment.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds (lbs.).

Familiarity with SG System is a plus.

Knowledge of lean kitchen practices is a plus.

Current Food Handler Certification (or willing to obtain)

Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other team members and leadership.

Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Creative thinking and a passion for food innovation.

Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen or food production environment.

2-year culinary degree.
