We are in need of a VIP host.
An ability to guide and direct people is a must. If you are a talker and a multi-tasker and enjoy making connections with guests - then this is a perfect opportunity for you.
The peak hours for this position are Fridays & Saturdays 8pm until 1:30am, however more hours during lunch & dinner service for more traditional hosting are certainly available. This job is about getting people and particularly tourists that are looking for something to do, and looking for someone to engage with - into Boxcar where entertainment and delicious dining options are plentiful.
Your time will be split between our host stands that are located down the stairs on Water Street, the ClubCar entrance on the patio, and inside of the restaurant guiding people to their tables. For the right and interested candidate - you will be open to visiting with concierges and front desk people in our downtown community to educate them on what events and happenings we have going on. We are encroaching on the peak of the busy season with Spanish & Indian Market, football, Olympics, and live music concerts all on the horizon.
The VIP Host is in charge of graciously welcoming patrons into our doors and helping them find the right Boxcar atmosphere for them. Whether that's brunch on the patio, escorting them to the speakeasy for a private function, directing a family for some late night bites and cocktails in our fire room, or getting people into ClubCar for the evening's entertainment. On Fridays & Saturdays this includes checking IDs with an ID scanner, wristbanding people, and collecting a cover charge for the entertainment. You will be accountable to welcoming guests and managing seating during our busiest times. Process TO-GO orders and reservations for the team, along with taking cover at the door for late night club nights.
Boxcar prides itself on being the premier sports bar & live music venue in Northern New Mexico. The food at Boxcar is curated by our very own James Beard Award nominated Chef Eric Stumpf and deserves to be bragged about.
