We are in need of a maitre d' or master host.
We are encroaching on the peak of the busy season with Spanish & Indian Market, football, Olympics, and live music concerts all on the horizon. This job is about getting people and particularly tourists that are looking for something to do, and looking for someone to engage with - into Boxcar where entertainment and delicious dining options are plentiful.
An ability to guide and direct people is a must. If you are a talker and a multi-tasker and enjoy making connections with guests - then this is a perfect opportunity for you.
Your time will be split between our host stands that are located down the stairs on Water Street and West San Francisco Street and inside of the restaurant guiding people to their tables. Ideally - you will be open to visiting with concierges and front desk people in our downtown community to educate them on what events and happenings we have going on.
We are interested in hiring someone available 12pm to 9pm Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday and either 8am to 5pm or 10am to 7pm on Saturdays & Sundays.
Boxcar prides itself on being the premier sports bar & live music venue in Northern New Mexico. The food at Boxcar is curated by our very own James Beard Award nominated Chef Eric Stumpf and deserves to be bragged about.
Hosts and Hostesses are accountable to welcoming guests and managing seating during our busiest times They also process TO-GO orders and reservations for the team, along with taking cover at the door for late night club nights.
If you are interested in the late night club nights in particular please ask about the Late Night Host position which pays more for those peak hours.
