Deliver high-quality instruction to secondary students in a classroom setting, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic growth and development.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Performs routine custodial activities at assigned District school site; sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes and polishes floors and vacuums rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops and other assigned work areas; spot cleans and shampoos carpets.

Cleans classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and related facilities as assigned; sweeps, mops and cleans gymnasium floor as assigned; spot mops spills and removes gum and debris; cleans tables, chairs and floors after lunch periods as assigned.

Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers, and urinals; cleans mirrors, tile and windows.

Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards to appropriate authority; reports and recommends need for maintenance repairs to appropriate authority; maintains security of buildings; reports suspicious or unauthorized individuals on campus; reports infractions of rules to supervisor.

Picks up and rakes paper, trash and debris around school grounds and in buildings; sweeps and cleans walkways and entrances; disposes of trash according to established procedures; washes out trash cans and follows established sanitation procedures and standards.

Operates cleaning equipment, such as vacuum, floor stripper, cleaner, buffer and polisher, carpet shampooer, scrubber, high-pressure sprayer, manual and power sweepers and power blowers as assigned.

Responds to emergency cleanups such as spills; maintains records of observed maintenance, repair needs and safety issues

Participates in major summer cleaning projects as assigned

Reflect on practice and make adjustments for professional growth.

Maintain professionalism with staff members.

Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.

Report suspected bullying to the building principal or designee as required by Arkansas law and district policies.

Adhere to all policies of the District.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal.

No prior experience is necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is predominately in an indoor environment but does involve occasional outdoor duties. The indoor sound level varies from very quiet to moderately loud, depending on the activities taking place.
