QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma required and six months accurate and heavy cash handling experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10 key experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

JOB SUMMARY Greet guests with in a prompt, courteous and professional manner and bids farewell upon departure. Performs cage cashier duties according to department policy and procedure. Promotes positive guest relations. Accurately and quickly handles a variety of money transactions. Responsible for an assigned drawer. Handles guests in a professional and friendly manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Greets every guest in a prompt, friendly, courteous and professional manner. • Ensure guest recognition by remembering names, faces, and information that makes each guest feel unique. • Communicates constantly with Servers, Assistant Servers and Management to ensure efficient operations. • Ensures that tables are properly set. • Seats guests in a timely and efficient manner. • Operates cash register. Receives cash from customers in payment for meals. Makes change and issues receipts or tickets to customer. Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand. • Offers a cordial farewell and thanks guests for dining upon departure. • Obtain TIPS certificate and Guest Service Training within 90 days of employment. • Perform tasks including bussing tables, seating guests, side work, and duties assigned by management. • Communicate basic knowledge about the casino and hotel, including special events, concerts and promotions. • Knowledgeable of all comp and coupon policies. • Ensures floor is free of spills and debris at all times. Keeps work area clean and neat. • Collects and inspects all menus, discarding all worn ones. • Navigate through POS system and perform transactions such as placing food and beverage orders, typing in modifiers, splitting checks, and providing accurate table numbers and guest count. • Makes coffee and fills fruit juice dispensers. • Perform self-banking duties such as tendering Comps, food Vouchers, credit cards, cash, and other forms of payments. In addition, reconcile paperwork and perform proper drop with minimal variance. • Answers phone properly and promptly giving name of restaurant and identifying self. • Maintains familiarity with menu items and daily specials. • Must wear black non-slip shoes. • In friendly, outgoing, polite and courteous at all times. • Provides answers and information to customers. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- While employed, you must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License.
- Must complete TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) training for serving alcohol responsibly within three months of being employed and maintain a valid certificate while employed thereafter.
