Job DetailsSixty Three Clinton opened in July 2021 by Michelin-starred Chef Samuel Clonts and Raymond Trinh (Chefs Table at Brooklyn Fare, Bar Uchu). We serve elevated American fare with global influences. The restaurant is located in New York City's Lower East Side neighborhood.
At Sixty Three Clinton, we value our staff and strive to create a welcoming, inclusive work culture. If you'd like to be considered, please email [email protected]
We are currently looking for a new member to join our Front of House team. This position is unique, as we require both service skills and a desire to learn how to tend bar. If you already possess bartending skillsespecially in the Michelin environmentthat is a huge plus.
We Require:
- A minimum 3 years experience in elevated dining service. This does not include bussing and back waiter tasks. This pertains to duties directly related to the guest experience: greeting tables, taking orders, processing payments, understanding allergens, and providing ample knowledge of the restaurants by the glass wines, cocktails, and zero-proof offerings.
- Familiarity with the Toast Point of Sale system.
- Full comprehension of open-handed service.
- A starting foundation of knowledge in wine and spirits, including proper wine and spirit service.

- A heightened attention to detail as it pertains to standards of service, including personal details of service i.e. no sudden movements, vocalizations at a respectable volume, proper use of behind and corner, clean and tidy uniform, etc.
- An enthusiastic attitude as it relates to guest interactions to create a more personalized and memorable experience for each guest.
- The physical ability to walk and stand for 8-9.5 hours 5 days per week, as well as lift objects 10-20lbs.
Other:
A starting foundation in bartending is a huge plus, though we are open to a candidate that desires training behind the bar. Our team is small: our head bartender is our only bar-related employee. Thus, this is a dual position of server and backup bartender. In addition to the requirements listed above, as backup bartender, we will require:
- An unyielding desire to learn about spirits, prep related to the bar, and bartending techniques.
- The ability to quickly learn how to prepare the bar for service, as well as successfully clean and break it down upon closing.
- The ability to multitask as it relates to cocktail preparation, taking orders, running food, and providing exceptional service to guests seated at the chefs counter, bar, and dining room.
- The ability to absorb and reiterate the details of our signature cocktails and mocktails, spirits on our list, and classic cocktails.
- The creative and improvisational ability to provide guests with a cocktail based on description of their taste and preference.
- A warm and social personality behind the bar that invites conversation and personalized guest interactions.
We are looking for a candidate with charisma, eloquence, and a heightened attention to detail. The ideal candidate understands that working in a small team requires clear, professional communication; an ample ability to adjust to change; and possesses the team-player mindset: it is not about whats in your job description, its about working in any way possible to achieve exceptional hospitality. Sixty Three Clinton hires professionals looking to remain in the restaurant industry as their chosen career path. We are serious about service and all its minor details: from the way we fold a napkin, to remembering a guests favorite drink (and having it ready for them upon their arrival). If it seems you fit the part, dont hesitate! Reach out and lets see if youre our next addition to the team.
