Effective immediately: (PT) Receptionist, Student Success Center, Wilmington University

Requirements: A High school diploma with related coursework and/or specialized training relevant to the job is required. Must have excellent communication, customer service skills, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must have a working knowledge of basic office equipment. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Must demonstrate respect for others in the workplace and a commitment to creating a supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Greets students, responds to inquiries, and ensures accurate data collection while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Answers phone calls, takes messages when appropriate, and provides information about Student Success Center services; may also assist with questions regarding other Wilmington University departments.
  • Assists Student Success Center management, staff, and tutors with clerical functions as needed (i.e., copying, typing, filing, finding tutoring resources in files, maintaining supplies, etc.)
  • Oversees the maintenance and proper functioning of computers, phones, and other equipment within the Student Success Center.
  • Oversee and proctor exams to ensure a secure and orderly testing environment.
  • Performs data entry tasks as needed.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the Center's common areas to support student learning. Ensures the Center is properly secured at the end of the day, in the absence of management or staff.
  • Promote and foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Student Success Center Manager.

Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Saturday's 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (with the exception of summer months). The incumbent must be flexible enough with their schedule to meet the needs of the department and the University.
