Job Description
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages with precision and warmth. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong product knowledge, and the ability to create memorable guest interactions in a fast-paced environment. The Barista also supports the cleanliness, inventory, and presentation of the cafe or coffee service area.
This full-time position has an hourly rate of $18.00 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare all espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages to exact specifications
Ensure all items are made with consistent quality, presentation, and timing
Provide warm, engaging, and knowledgeable service to every guest
Maintain a clean and organized station throughout service
Monitor stock of coffee, milk, syrups, and related supplies, and restock as needed
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
Process payments accurately using POS system and handle guest orders efficiently
Qualifications
1-2 years of barista experience in a specialty cafe or high-end hospitality setting
Working knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and brewing methods
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and guest focus
Strong communication and multitasking skills
SKILLS
Strong sense of timing, cleanliness, and beverage consistency
Friendly, professional, and proactive guest service approach
Ability to multitask with grace in a high-volume setting
Comfort with POS and digital order platforms
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces
Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
