Bartender

BASIC FUNCTION: The Bartender will serve and make drinks at the bar for the guests and servers. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE v High school diploma or equivalent. v Two years bartending experience. v Extensive wine knowledge. v One-year restaurant experience. v Pleasant personality. v Excellent communication skills. v Service Bar experience v Multitasking v Efficient and organized v Ability to work with a close-knit team ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Mix drinks for servers according to standard recipes. 2. Familiarity with the wine list and the stemware and appropriate garnishes used. 3. Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartenders manual. Jigger pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on Micros. 4. Keep bar stocked and clean. Follow side work sheet. 5. Monitor inventory. 6. Be knowledgeable of the menu for guests ordering at the bar. 7. Ensure the consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails. 8. Be familiar with and enforce all policies related to liquor liability laws. 9. Handle all checks and cash according to procedures. 10. Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants. 11. Make recommendations to travellers. 12. Professional, punctual, and positive attitude. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager. 2. Help out on floor when needed, seating guests, answering phones and serving tables.
