**Position:** Custodial Technician
**Supervisor:** Turnover Team Supervisor
**Worksite:** Various throughout Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex counties
**Classification:** Full Time, Non-Exempt
**Job Overview**
Under the supervision of the Turnover Team Supervisor, the Custodial
Technician is responsible for regular cleaning of the community rooms,
common areas, common bathrooms, and laundry rooms of the Rural*Edge*
Portfolio, ensuring that residents and guests to the property have a
clean and healthy place to gather and perform necessary household tasks.
This position is vital to the daily life of our residents and
Rural*Edge* in our mission of strengthening Northeast Kingdom
communities, one home at a time.
[]{#_Hlk113370665}**Essential Duties and Functions**
Maintaining a weekly schedule of properties that will be cleaned by
following a checklist and indicating areas that were cleaned and
inspected.
Regularly vacuuming, sweeping, mopping all entryways, hallways,
community room floors.
Cleaning and wiping down all surfaces in the common areas.
Regular cleaning of, and adding supplies to, all public restrooms.
Changing wastebaskets and replacing trash can liners in common areas and
restrooms.
Washing windows, doorways, elevators, and stairwells.
Cleaning and shampooing of carpets on a quarterly basis.
Deep cleaning in the common areas and community rooms on a quarterly
basis.
Coordinating with Supervisor to prepare for annual, state, or funder
inspections of specific properties, ensuring the common areas are ready
for inspection.
Performing basic maintenance repair, when necessary.
Training in lead safe IRC (Inspection, Repair and Cleaning) practices
and regulations required upon hire.
Checking all smoke detectors and emergency lights in common areas to
ensure they are in working order.
Washing rags used daily and reporting a weekly inventory of supplies
needed.
Observe and report all health and safety issues immediately to
supervisor.
Cleaning up large spills or larger than normal areas covered in dirt or
debris.
Painting of common areas, when necessary.
Assisting the Turnover Team on apartment turnovers, when necessary.
Assist with water damage clean ups, including mold removal and working
with basements containing moisture and flooded units,
Annual power washing exterior of buildings.
Must adhere to proper policies, procedures, and directives as provided
by Supervisor/Director or Management.
Be willing to travel for trainings, required education, or needed
certification classes.
Participate in assigned activities in support of Rural*Edge* mission and
goals.
Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of
experience in cleaning commercial spaces preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision. This
position requires professional conduct at all times.
Must be capable of performing manual labor and the ability to work on
ladders.
Valid drivers license, a good driving record, and proof of automobile
insurance is required.

Microsoft Outlook, and the ability to check email regularly from cell
phone.
Organizational skills and detailed work habits.
Managing time efficiently to keep up with the weekly schedule.
Flexibility in work schedule and potential location is required coverage
area includes units from Groton to Derby Line and location will change
daily. Job will largely be done during normal business hours (Monday
F iday, 8am - 4:30pm).
