Barista

Emish Market, located in Fife, WA, is a Ukrainian grocery store offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. We also feature a full-service cafe, bakery, and meat department, serving freshly made Ukrainian dishes, sweet pastries, and specialty meats, providing a unique shopping experience for our customers.

We are currently seeking an energetic and customer-focused Barista to join our cafe team. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee and hospitality, has a great attitude, and enjoys providing exceptional service in a welcoming environment. Work Schedule: We're flexible with shifts and can work around your availability, but working on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am until 6 pm is required . Days off can be Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday. Regular hours on workdays are 3:30 pm until 12:30 am.

Pay Range: starting $16.50 per hour + tips (our baristas make on average $5-6 per hour in tips)

Benefits: 5 paid holidays, 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked, extra $2 paid per hour worked on Sunday

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages consistently to quality standards
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and cafe equipment
• Greet and engage customers warmly, take orders, and answer menu questions
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee station and customer seating
• Assist with cafe inventory, restocking, and opening/closing duties
• Support bakery staff as needed and contribute to a collaborative team environment

Required Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of barista experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy hours
• Basic knowledge of coffee brewing methods and milk frothing
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety standards
• Fluency in the Ukrainian language is preferred but not required
